Today Match 1
Match #6
RR vs DD
Starts at 08:00 PM , 11 April
IPL 2018 , Jaipur
Team Prediction -
Team 1 (For H2H Leagues) -
1. R Pant
2. S Samson
3. A Rahane (C)
4. D Short
5. G Gambhir (VC)
6. G Maxwell
7. B Stokes
8. J Unadkat
9. S Gopal
10. D Kulkarni
11. A Mishra
- Rahane has the average of 63 against Delhi. And its on the home ground. He is our Captain in main league
- We made this team a little biased towards RR, as they have won all last 6 matches against Delhi.
- You can drop one RR bowler, D Kulkarni, and take M Shami in his place to balance out.
Team 2 (For Bigger Leagues) -
1. R Pant
2. S Samson
3. A Rahane
4. D Short (C)
5. G Gambhir
6. G Maxwell
7. B Stokes (VC)
8. J Unadkat
9. R Tewati
10. D Kulkarni
11. M Shami
Other Choice For C VC -
S Iyer, S Samson, G Maxwell
Grand League Tip -
D Short -
Although Maxwell is making a comeback today, but D Short is a true Underrated player in this match. An opener and a part time bowler. Didn't do much in last match. Definitely a must pick for GL.
Team Tracker –
RR –
- Rajasthan’s bowlers had a poor match as a collective only taking the one wicket in a nine-wicket loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad last time out with overseas bowlers Ben Laughlin and Ben Stokes having nights to forget bowling just two overs each for a total of 41 runs.
- The bowlers were not totally to blame however for the disappointing opening performance as the batting group could just not get going posting a meagre 125/9 from their 20 overs on a good track. Talented young local Sanju Samson was the only player to hold his head high after scoring a well complied 49 from 42 deliveries and he was the only Royals player to pass 20.
DD –
- Delhi will be disappointed with their first outing against the Kings XI Punjab going down comfortably by 6 wickets despite posting 166 and the struggle for Delhi was in the bowling department. They were obliterated early on by KL Rahul (51 off 16) and only captured four wickets for the innings.
- Their batting was really poor with only Gambhir passing the 50 mark and it was Dan Christian who finished the innings well and took them to a respectable total.
Team News –
RR –
- Rajasthan pretty much fielded their best XI of the tournament and still couldn’t win so they could go with the same XI for one more game before making any more changes.
- Jofra Archer was not seen during the match eve which tells us that he won’t play.
- They could replace K Gowtham by Binny but it is the team management’s call.
DD –
- Delhi on the other hand welcome the Big Man Glenn Maxwell who has joined the team a day back.
- With Morris in final overs, DD can promote Maxwell to number 3 in place of S Iyer.
- Given that he is a definite starter Dan Christian may have to sit out.
- There is a very small chance, they can call in Liam Plunket in place of T Boult.
Pitch Report –
- Match is in the Sawai Man Singh stadium Jaipur.
- The track is usually flat and yields a lot of runs.
- However, Spinners can get a slight help from the pitch.
Probable Playing XI -
(In Batting Order)
RR –
Ajinkya Rahane(c), D Arcy Short, Sanju Samson, Ben Stokes, Rahul Tripathi, Jos Buttler(w), Krishnappa Gowtham/S Binny, Shreyas Gopal, Dhawal Kulkarni, Jaydev Unadkat, Ben Laughlin
DD –
Gautam Gambhir (c), Colin Munro, G Maxwell, S Iyer, Rishabh Pant (wk),Vijay Shankar, Chris Morris, Rahul Tewatia, Amit Mishra, Mohammed Shami, Trent Boult
RR –
- D’Arcy Short – Player with great technique was highest run getter of BBL this year and can bowl a bit of leg spin too.
- Ajinkya Rahane – Not in good form but has always been a good player.
- Rahul Tripathi – Has started to bowl more regularly and in form with the bat evident from his 2 tons during VHT.
- Sanju Samson – No notable performances by Sanju during VHT but he is a good talent.
- Ben Stokes – Fought really hard in his last game to save the test match but couldn’t and has had a lot of back issues off late.
- Jos Buttler – Explosive finisher who can tonk any bowler with his improvisation.
- K Gowtham – Good off spinner and was the main reason why Karnataka won VHT this year.
- Shreyas Gopal – Another reason why Karnataka clinched VHT is Shreyas Gopal the Leggie.
- Dhawal Kulkarni – Bowled with great control during the VHT and was the highest wicket taker for Mumbai.
- Jayadev Unadkat – The highest of this IPL at 11.5cr better not wreck it.
- Ben Laughlin – Good wicket taking bowler who knows how to bowl in a difficult situation.
DD –
- Colin Munro – Can give 4 useful overs of slow pace bowling if given the chance and we all know how explosive he is with the bat.
- Gautam Gambhir – Veteran is the only word to define him.
- Shreyas Iyer – Didn’t look good during his recent outings.
- Rishabh Pant – Hit or miss is Rishabh Pant in 2 words for you.
- Vijay Shankar – Really handy with the ball and can bat a bit as well (Forget the Nidashas Trophy finals please :P )
- Chris Morris – Asset of the team.
- Amit Mishra – Leggie has been in the hood for years, hasn’t bowled much in the recent past.
- Trent Boult – Looked amazing during the series against England.
- M Shami – Seasoned Indian pacer.
- Rahul Tewatia – Good spinner who can pick wickets during the middle overs.

Expert Advice –
WK –
- You can go with Rishabh Pant in the WK section since he can save you some credits compared to buttler.
BAT –
- Although Colin Munro failed in the last game he always is an impact player which is why I see him as a default pick along with Sanju, Darcy Short and GG.
- I know Darcy failed in the last game but he has got immense talent in him and can make it up to the failure by a big innings.
- You can consider Iyer as your fifth batsman or go with an extra all-rounder from the next section.
AR –
- Ben Stokes is a priced allrounder and hence is my default choice.
- Glenn Maxwell is back and was in great touch against NZ and England in the recent T20 Tri series.
- If you have picked only 4 batsman you can afford to pick Shankar.
BWL –
- Ben Laughlin might seem not a good bowler at 8 credits but he certainly has impressed during BBL and PSL.
- For other options you can consider players like Boult and Kulkarni.
Stats That Matters -
- RR have won their last 6 games against DD.
- Rahane has a Batting average of 63.2 against Delhi in 15 games.

- This is Gautam Gambhir's 150th IPL game.
- Maxwell has the strike rate of 190 between overs 7-15
